When the church building is burned, bulldozed, and
confiscated by some group for their demonic purpose,
the people find other places to gather and worship.
These and similar actions are like throwing water on an
oil fire. Instead of putting out the fire, the fire spreads in immediate response. Anger and resentment moves
many directions starting many small fires that eventually
unite and become a fire of intense magnitude.
Although Satan and his minions suffer from the insane
notion that they can fight against God and win, they
are not stupid. When one battle plan fails to obtain the
desired victory, another plan is devised, developed, and
implemented. The evil one learns from his mistakes.
He has learned if you put the Apostle Paul in prison;
the world gets almost half of The New Testament. Put
John in exile on Patmos, and you get The Revelation
of Jesus Christ. That great book Pilgrim’s Progress was
written by John Bunyan in his prison cell.
The enemies of Christ seek ways to remove all things
spiritual. Now, they are after the Christian faith, and
Christian belief. His latest tactics are to let the church
building stand, but:
• Have the choir sing socially acceptable songs.
• Have the preacher proclaim that the Bible is
littered with errors and contradictions.
• Debate the accuracy of scripture. Was there
really a flood? Did a whale actually swallow
Jonah? Was Mary truly a virgin?
• Divert faith away from God by finding fault
with His word while teaching that government
is the guardian and savior of man.
• Substitute the prayer line with government
health care.
• Accuse the church of having a holier-than-
thou attitude if it cries out against sin.
• Include tolerance in church doctrine, so no
one feels left out.
• Cease labeling people as saved or lost.
• Remove guilt, condemnation, and conviction
of unrepented sin.

The enemy knows that when any Christian church
doesn’t distinguish between right and wrong, and
between the Holy and the vile, that death will surely
come. But that death will come slowly and easily
without pain or suffering, or even the knowledge that
life is leaving. Violent death, such as murder, torture,
and execution shock the conscience and provoke an
people to action. They began to pray, fast, and attend
church more than before. Slow death numbs the senses
and removes the shock factor.
When terrorist show videos of Christians being
beheaded, it alarms the world. When the church is
cold, dark, and shuttered on Sunday evenings no
one notices. Or if they do, they church is excused for
keeping up with the times.

Fundamental beliefs are being changed for fear of
being labeled hatemongers, bigots, or insensitive to the
feelings and rights of others. The poison pill of political
correctness has been swallowed to the peril and demise
of many religious bodies. Afraid of suffering physically
and emotionally before a barrage of oppression and
persecution, they choose rather to die spiritually by
abandoning all the tenets of their faith.
The vast majority of the American
church today is just a beautiful corpse.
In the United States, Christians are not being
imprisoned for their faith. Firing squads are not
putting bullets through the hearts of those who refuse
to recant their faith. The blood of saints fills none of
our streets. But troubling is the thought that while
believers in China endured these and worse things
during the cultural revolution under Chairman Mao,
the Chinese church grew, and is thriving today. The
American church is dying at an alarming rate; the
victim of a silent revolution.
Today’s weapon of choice to silence the church no
longer drains blood from the body. Instead it drains
faith from the soul, and silences the voice of faith that
cries in the wilderness.
